You already plan and write with ChatGPT. With the Sociro connector, ChatGPT can also do the posting: list your brands and accounts, schedule a post for a date and time, tell you what is scheduled, and edit or cancel it. You ask in plain words and stay in charge of what goes out.
This guide shows how to connect ChatGPT to Sociro, what to ask once it is connected, and the limits that keep it safe.
Quick answer: can ChatGPT schedule social media posts?
Yes, once it is connected to a scheduler. ChatGPT cannot post to your social accounts by itself. Add Sociro to ChatGPT as a custom connector and sign in with your Sociro login. Until Sociro is listed in ChatGPT's own directory, this needs Developer mode turned on. After that, a request like "Schedule this for tomorrow at 9 AM on my main brand" creates a real scheduled post in Sociro.

What you need first
- A Sociro account on a paid plan
- Your Sociro login. You must be the workspace owner or an admin to connect an assistant
- Your social accounts already connected in Sociro. The assistant posts to accounts you have connected; it does not connect new ones.
How to connect ChatGPT to Sociro
- Turn on Developer mode in ChatGPT. In ChatGPT, open Settings and turn on Developer mode. Where the switch sits depends on your plan and version: look in the Connectors settings under Advanced, or under Security. On a business plan your ChatGPT admin may need to turn it on for you.
- Create a connector with the Sociro address. In the Connectors settings choose Create. Give it a name, for example Sociro, paste the address below, set Authentication to OAuth, tick the box to confirm you trust the application, and choose Create.
https://mcp.sociro.com/mcp - Choose what ChatGPT may do, then allow it. Your browser opens Sociro. Sign in if you are asked to. Choose the workspace, every social group or one, and what ChatGPT may do: see your accounts and posts, schedule posts, add media. Then choose Allow.
- Ask your first question. Start a new chat, turn on the Sociro connector for that chat, and ask: List my Sociro accounts. You get your brands and the accounts in each. From there, ask it to schedule a post.
- See or stop the connection in Sociro. In Sociro, open Settings, then Developer API. The assistant is listed under Connected MCP apps with what it can use and do. Disconnect stops it at once.
The full walkthrough, with a picture for each step, is in the ChatGPT connect guide.

What to ask ChatGPT once it is connected
Ask the way you would ask a colleague. These are the things the connection can do:
| What it does | In detail | Example |
|---|---|---|
| List social groups and their accounts | Shows every social group (brand) your connection can use and the accounts in each. | "Show my brands and their accounts." |
| Add an image from a link | Adds an image to your Sociro media library from a link, ready to post. | "Add this image to Sociro: https://example.com/picture.png" |
| Set a video's thumbnail | Sets or replaces the thumbnail of a video in your library. It can also be used as the cover on platforms that take one. | "Use this image as the thumbnail for that video." |
| Schedule or publish a post | Schedules a post for later or publishes it now, to one or more accounts of a brand. Supports a first comment, a video cover, and the title, description and privacy options some platforms need. | "Schedule this for tomorrow at 9 AM on my main brand." |
| Get one post | Shows a post's status on each account, its public links once published, and the reason if it failed. | "Did yesterday's post go out? Give me the links." |
| List posts | Lists your posts by status, date and brand. | "What is scheduled this week?" |
| Edit a scheduled post | Changes the caption or the time of a post that has not gone out yet. | "Move that post to 8 PM." |
| Cancel a scheduled post | Cancels a post that has not gone out yet. | "Cancel that post." |

A simple weekly routine
- Check what is already planned. Ask "What is scheduled this week?"
- Write the posts together. Draft the captions in the chat, the way you already do.
- Schedule them. Give the brand, the day and the time. The time is in your own timezone.
- Fix what changes. Move a post or change its caption by asking. Cancel one if plans change.
Connect ChatGPT in a few minutes
Follow the step-by-step guide, sign in with your Sociro login, and ask your first question.
What keeps it safe
- Nothing is published by accident: a post needs a time, or a clear instruction to publish now
- No double posts: if the assistant repeats a request, the post that already exists is returned
- Your assistant asks before it posts, edits or cancels, when your app is set to ask for approval
- A connection can only do what you allowed when you signed in, or what your API key can do, and your plan's limits apply
- A sign-in is short-lived and renews itself. Only the workspace owner or an admin can approve one, and it stops if they leave the workspace
You can see every connected assistant in Sociro under Settings, Developer API, and disconnect one at any time.

What it cannot do yet
- Attach a file in the chat on the web. Add an image by link instead, or use the local server
- Add a video from a link
- Browse the media library
- Use a different caption for each account in one request. The assistant sends one request per platform
- Change the media or the accounts of a post that is already scheduled. Cancel it and create it again
- Analytics, drafts and approvals, comments and replies, and the AI Planner
- Connect or disconnect social accounts. That is done in the Sociro app
Frequently asked questions
Do I need an API key to connect ChatGPT?
No. You sign in with your Sociro login and choose what the assistant may do. An API key is only a fallback for apps that cannot sign in.
Will ChatGPT post without asking me?
Nothing is published by accident: a post needs a time, or a clear instruction to publish now. Your assistant asks before it posts, edits or cancels, when your app is set to ask for approval.
Can I limit it to one brand?
Yes. When you connect you choose every social group or one, and whether the assistant may read only, post, or add media.
How do I stop it?
In Sociro, open Settings, then Developer API, and choose Disconnect on the assistant. It stops working at once.
Does it work with other assistants?
Yes. The same address works in other assistants that support MCP connectors. See the Sociro MCP server page for the list and a guide for each.
